PAMPHLET DESIGN
//intro to graphic design project 2
The article “Stop Making Sense is Back, and Talking Heads have More to Say” by Jon Pareles celebrates the landmark concert film Stop Making Sense, which reached its 40th anniversary since its release. The article highlights the film’s unique energy, most notably from lead singer David Byrne’s wacky, yet iconic performance. For the concept of the pamphlet, there was great importance on displaying the film’s element of surprise and constant state of jubilance that the article references. This was accomplished by making imagery and folding patterns interact by revealing more of the final composition the more one unfolds the pamphlet. This element not only relates to the concept but lets the pamphlet feel interactive and playful, which could prompt the viewer to watch the film.
